In last Sunday's ballot, the candidate of the center-left Frei came close to "statistical miracle" to reverse a situation compromised by the poor harvest 30% of votes in December. The enthusiasm that accompanied the proposal for a change (election slogan) promoted by the right of Sebastián Piñera has left room for some doubt more, but 51.6% was still promoted as the first president of the right-to-twenty from the dictatorship of Pinochet. Then that "the majority of the Chilean people" thanked matched only by the new president in just over 3 ½ million inhabitants out of a total of about 17 million, is uno scherzo della legge elettorale che ho spiegato nel precedente articolo.

Ciao carissimi!
Sul sito di Repubblica c'è oggi una buona presentazione della situazione politica alla vigilia del ballottaggio che avverrà domani in Cile. Vi renderete conto che non è molto differente dall'ultima votazione italiana tra Berlusconi e Prodi.
Aggiungo solo che l'iscrizione al registro elettorale è libera ma vincolante, chi si iscrive deve poi votare ogni volta se non vuol essere multato, and for this half of Chileans have never enrolled or vote. There is a proposal to move quickly to free votes as in Italy for the Chileans to promote political responsibility.

Dear friends, missionary groups and family, how are you?
I come to you with this letter in this Christmas season to present a small but important for us to request. Talking to the brothers of the future community Jesús de Nazareth (fr. Pedro, fr. Joseph and myself) we got this idea that I try to explain in brief.
How many of you know the February 15 next, in the city of Curico, we open the third of the mission communities of Chile and, like many of you have seen the pictures on the website or blog friars of the Province in Chile, the church is beautiful and does not need big things instead the "convent", a small house in rent totally empty, it needs everything! (in new set of photographs 's Photo Album delegation of Chile blog or site http://www.viviamaspera.tk/ can see photos of the convent, the chapel and the sector).
In this Christmas spirit, where everyone thinks and remember loved ones with a small gift, it seemed good to ask you, friends of the mission Chile, to help furnish the new convent. It is beautiful and important for us to hear vicinaza all of you at this significant moment, not only for the Delegation of Chile but for the entire province of religion.
Basically we ask with humility and trust to furnish a small gift for the new convent of the indispensable. What we lack is almost everything. Following
leave you a short list of objects that can be used, and if you want you can send via fr. Valentino Maragno the fee in cash.
