Curicó, April 9, 2010

Dear brothers, family, missionary groups and friends of the mission, how are you? I hope good!

I come to you with this written after more than a month after the terrible earthquake that struck our country.

The situation, as I said in the letter Palm Sunday, is still critical (see also the picture Curicó , con le immagini degli "spazi vuoti" dove prima c'erano le case, e quelle di Iloca, piccolo cen tro abitato della costa ).

Con questo mio scritto desidero presentarvi e proporvi un progetto, a cui noi frati cileni abbiamo aderito e where to direct the offers we received and those that will come.

So far the help they have given us Curicó friars, as well as listen to the many people who would tell of fear, helplessness and terror of that night and the next few days, and give a word of comfort and hope , was to distribute Vivier, clothing materials and supplies.

often Franciscan community as we wondered how to help and what is the best way to intervene and to stay close to our people marked by the earthquake and tsunami.

We realized that the real problem begins now, after the first phase of verification of the damage ("Land") and the second phase, the demolition of many houses in the center and periphery, is now thought to reconstruction.

Diocese of Talca is offering the prefabricated houses of 30 square meters (see photo ) of two bedrooms, a kitchen-living room and bathroom, with possible subsequent extension of two rooms: one is dignified arrangement to deal with the early days of Reconstruction (it will take years to return to normal).

As we thought Chilean brothers to join this project which we feel is serious, well-designed and already tested with success years ago for another disaster of the same diocese of Talca. It seems that not only can not respond to an immediate need (house), but that could enable a family to live in dignity in a little house for the time necessary for the reconstruction of their homes, "brick". The cost of the house is about 2500 - 2600 €.

If Chilean brothers sometimes help to get up again and live a dignified life can continue to do so - any offer - as we had already reported, the reason:

For Chile earthquake, in the income current Caritas Antoniana C / C 12 74 23 26 payable to: PPFMC Caritas St. Anthony - Onlus Via Donatello, 21 - 35123 Padova
or by bank transfer to IBAN code: IT05 S050 1812 1010 0000 0505 020 Banca Popolare Etica , with the same header and the same reason described above.

¡Muchas gracias! ... Y el Señor les resucitado Bendigo les y paz y todo bien entregue up.

fr. Tullio
