How Do I Convert An Eagle Bus

7 - Domenica delle Palme, con speranza - fr.Tullio

Hello friends how are you? I hope good!
After a lot 'of would silently (how much water under the bridge, or rather how many earthquakes in this month), I come to you with a written brief in this Palm Sunday.
Today we started with the solemn Holy Week liturgy of the palms. In this liturgy we celebrated the two sides of the coin of the Paschal Mystery: the life and glory, through the procession with olive branches thinking and proclaiming Christ our King And at the same time we have mentioned his death on the cross with the reading of the passion, reliving the pain and humiliation experienced by Jesus.

I think I can say that this year the celebration was, at least for many of us Chileans, a deep and special meaning. In communion with the crucified so many in our city and our country, this morning we celebrated the procession and mass. Many Chileans are crying dipersi and the dead in the water of this terrible earthquake, many more are still troubled and saddened by the precarious situation they are living and many are worried about the approaching rainy season, in practice many are not home, many homes are damaged in a serious and grave, many are now losing their jobs because of the damage in the factories or warehouses of fruit picking ... (I had already sent some pictures of Curicó after the earthquake )

reading and meditating this morning in making the text of the passion of the Lord came to me to mind the many faces of the crucifixes of our parish. A Nono (pictured with guitar in hand), Dad's family, who have lost homes, jobs ... practically everything, and that leads into the heart the desire to start and resume viviere normally. I was reminded of the house of the elderly Miss Rebeca, who lives alone with her cinque cani: la sua casa é tutta una crepa (vedi foto) e dopo un mese dal terremoto non vuole andarsene perché quel luogo contiene tutta la sua vita e i suoi ricordi.

¡Paz y bien!
fr. Tullio

Nell'ultima foto, i nostri vicini di casa: dove prima sorgevano le sale di catechesi e attività varie della parrocchia San José Obrero, adesso c'è solo un gran vacuum, along with a bit 'of rubble.

How Much Does It Cost To Build A Swing Set?

Hello dear!

I had written that, thank God, we are all well and our monasteries and churches entrusted to have suffered structural damage. I had also invited to see photos of our church in Santiago after the earthquake , with some cracks and the statue of the Immaculate Conception with no hands, but without serious structural damage.

Yesterday there was also hit hard in Copiapo, but fortunately did not last long and I can confirm that there is nothing significant happened.

Per parlarvi di Santiago e della nostra chiesa, abbiamo dovuto provvedere ai primi due lavori urgenti, cioè far togliere un muro pericolante esterno all'abside della chiesa e pulire tutte le crepe dai calcinacci, Sassetti and various fillers that could fall on his head to the faithful.
Now the church is fully fit for use but the damage of the earthquake are clearly visible and they do a certain effect.
should all be repaired, although we are waiting for the definitive opinion of experts.

few months we will have a specific intervention with special glue that is inserted by pressure, fill cracks and expand into all the cracks, and then redo the stucco and paint different.
For now we have even wondered what could be the budget, better not think about it.

I leave you and invite you to see the link of new photos of our church, the sanctuary of the Inmaculada Concepción to Santiago.

Greetings to all!
fr.Christian

is for days I want to send these lines to your blog. In addressing the various friends
monks and lay people who, from time to time, and especially in these days, looking for news from us, I wish I could get, especially to those friends with whom I have brothers lived his formative years, years with many beautiful memories, nice, a lot of memories that have accompanied me in these ten years of Chile, remember that in many instances (and this is one of those) make you feel less of that something called remote and - why not - alone.
A Nando, Fabio, Alberto, Alessandro, Renato e. .. Other: I agree that what may come as a gesture of remembrance and affectionate - if it can be used - as a reason to reflect and think once more to the things that "touch" with our life force of people and consecrated.

Curicó I arrived about a month ago, leaving behind the decade of Santiago, the roles of rector and pastor, a community of active and well lay brothers joined us, a dynamic and engaging and pastoral life, let me tell you , a spacious room!
Despite the discrete "Resizing volume" of the room forced me to maximize space "to the millimeter," the impact of the city was more than positive: a beautiful and welcoming city, full of greenery, a city where finally able to get around on foot breathing clean air (goodbye to the smog of Santiago!) and under a sky, finally, really blue and persistently. In
parish was better not to go yet, because the official exchange rate (with a Bishop to welcome) the day was scheduled for February 28. Meanwhile, the community began in the early rounds in the kitchen, forcing me to "squeeze your brains" and remember how I could prepare women of the house when I was little (I must say that my menu is very poor, but until now nobody manifestado signs of gastro-enteritis and, dare I add, I almost amuses me to think about how to vary the classic Bolognese sauce. .. but you better not think about it too!).
All very quiet while I was beginning to be felt in the eagerness to know the new reality of the parish and integrated as soon as possible in their pastoral activities. Allow assignments of greater responsibility (see parish priest and superior) is good, but as one is aware of everything, having engaged for several years, will remain in the blood some "bacteria" (See "Bacterium priests") to delete them it takes time and especially the ability to "plunder" that we all hope, but in fact ....
came the night of 26: all about making well-planned recruitment of the parish, well prepared to welcome those who would come from Santiago, the quiet young pastor (fr.Tullio) antevigilia the event.

And suddenly everything stops: at 3:35 am on Feb. 27 that we are left to improvise "dancing" and "jump" like never before.
We found ourselves in the front garden, over the long kick, telling we were right: none of us still imagine how devastating and extensive was the earthquake we were living. Gradually came the first news of what was passing in Curicó (soon we would see for yourself the terrible damage) and only Successive what happened in coastline due to the tsunami. We were able also to communicate with our family in Italy to calm and communicate to the Province that we were fine.
and you get no light and with a little water on Sunday, February 28, the day of assumption of the parish through the papers one could give an account of the disaster at the local and national. It began
replicas, some really strong and some days very frequenti e, sopratutto, iniziava il contatto con la nostra gente: visitarla nelle loro case, ascoltarla, “registrare” necessitá, angustia, pena, progetti infranti…

Accanto a questa prima e immediata riflessione in negativo, sono scaturite riflessioni positive nel senso che ti fanno non solo say that life is a beautiful and great gift that God gives us (there are many people who have lost everything, but feel grateful to God for having preserved in their lives and their families, hence their "draw" the strength, the desire, the will to start over, to rebuild after all ...), but that life itself, and especially in the perspective of faith and profound, it assumes a special beauty when you retrieve or accentuate, not as ever, certain values.
spontaneously and with more and more strength and develop a spirit solidario: neighbors worried about each other (in some cases overcoming difficulties and deleting old or resentment); Families united in grief and sorrow of having lost everything, but especially in conjunction with the emergency afforontare capable of creating small communities where they prepare and take meals in common, sharing a tent, gather the children and they do play . To feel that someone cares about you, asks you what you need most, listens to you, accompanies you: all this makes you feel good and helps a lot to develop (and sometimes in a way unheard of) that seed of hope that we all carry inside.

And here is grafted a reflection that I call "pastoral": the earthquake hit us at the beginning of the new pastoral year (March to September is like us by you) and there are many parishes whose church patronage and are no longer viable. At a meeting of all priests of the diocese with the bishop said it was not necessary if propio reinvent, certainly re-think this pastoral year 2010/2011.
Project diocesan pastoral parish pastoral plan: things are certainly important, but at this time should be put to the side to make way for the priority of "rebuilt" rebuild / build spaces that allow celebrations and pastoral activities, but most recover force that "pastoral charity" which often takes over on the right but sometimes excessive "zeal" organizational transforms the "pastor" in a "manager". Pastors and priests are called to a pastoral person, that you spend listening, in assisting in reconstruction work and with people, to lift the spirits and, as a fundamental basis, focusing on the moments of the Eucharist and prayer. You're probably not the kind of pastoral care that should be characterized more apostolic life, and this already in terms of "normality", without having to wait for an earthquake we take away the church and patronage?

three of us "luck" of not having lost any church or patronage, but I hope that the next "Luxury" we can afford in terms of pastoral activities (already started actually) takes root and keep this person's ministry, a ministry which the model is fundamental and essential to the "modus operandi" of the Lord.
I assure you that all my impatience "pastoral" (a load area that put me?, When do we start?, And so on ...) are losing more and more power (not so easy to remove them all at once, even with an earthquake) and I am rather thinking of how to "enhance" the time of being with, to do with ..

Certainly this third community of the delegation had to suffer not just for "being born": a long and careful discernment, not the last time the diocese of Melipilla (thank the Lord for that no, because the church and convent where it was thought to go ... have had serious damage in the earthquake), the arrival of some 'too "busy" in Curico ...
Peró nothing is accidental: if we are here in a town where we are practically the only male religious community, there is a reason: What are you asking, what is expected of us good God? What we witness as religious and as a Franciscan brotherhood?

Give us time to reflect and answer these questions ... if we can find a response.

An affectionate greeting.
Fra Giuseppe

3 - Dietro il dolore, la speranza… - fr.Giuseppe

Paulina is a lady of 50 years or so. I had seen a few times, after the fateful February 27th, the day of earthquake, go in front of our house without knowing us, we were set to give a smile as a greeting.
Last Saturday, while I went out to shop, I saw her again and I greeted as usual, but this time I approached and asked how things were going, if he had had problems with the earthquake : he said he was fine, adding, with sad eyes, which had, however, dovuto lasciare la casa, una casa di “adobe” (paglia e fango) dove era nata e dove la sua famiglia viveva da 80 anni, una casa che avrebbero dovuto demolire (al vederla, Paulina sembrerebbe appartenere a una classe socio-economica di tipo medio-basso).

Chiudo questo racconto con due immagini: si riferiscono a una piantina comprata da Pedro e che avevamo messo davanti all’icona Madonna: the night of the earthquake has flown to the ground with the icon and last Thursday, and "re-flown" on the ground due to a strong reply. Three days ago I noticed that there was a bud and a new flower was born yesterday! That is a sign of hope for us and for you all.
fr.Giuseppe

PS
In the parish seat you are deploying "boxes" of food and cellophane that Caritas is forwarding to the local parishes. Walk on the work of "land" of families with serious problems at home once there is a concrete proposal for a "home project", we will inform them immediately. Meanwhile, continue to remind us in prayer.

Becoming An Orthopedic Surgeon, Uk

In risposta a chi ci ha chiesto come poter aiutare - fr.Christian

Hello dear!
Here in Santiago, the situation is normalizing, almost all offices and shops are open, and yet most of the churches.

Here and there are still people living in tents, where they lived because the buildings are uninhabitable, but as always dictated by circumstances not under construction, made without complying with the laws here are very strict earthquake (also unless there are controls to verify compliance) or saving on iron and cement.

too Curicó the situation is much improved with regard to the emergency, which remains mainly in small towns in the country, not so much in the city. But the destruction is so great, especially in the old city. The images you see in Italy are just starting to Curico, and going to the south of Chile (a country's 5,000 km long), in an area ranging from 200 to 600 km south of the capital Santiago. To the north of Santiago, Copiapo included, so far there had been no damage, even if this night had a strong quake epicenter as a city 800 km north of Copiapo, with a little 'damage and some wounded.

the south the situation is quite dramatic, even more because of the tsunami that the earthquake, and has hit the small towns along the coast, which are also the hardest to reach and less supplied with provisions. A
Concepción instead, which is a very large city, has already been restored and security are coming aid.

started to respond to many of you asking me how we can help, I can say that the country is moving in a massive way to collect food and clothes to send to the quake-hit areas.
From early in the week the churches and some other places have become points di raccolta, e soprattutto da oggi a domenica ci saranno varie iniziative a reti televisive unificate (la cosiddetta Teletón).

In questo senso abbiamo pensato che, senza fretta e nei limiti delle possibility, we ask for your help raising funds that will be used in a few weeks, relying on the Caritas or associations in the meantime we will guarantee, and thus help the reconstruction in the devastated areas.

not hide the concern is more personal, if less urgent, to have to begin restoration work in our own church of Santiago, who have not had a structural collapse, it will need a good job to restore its reliable and friendly .

In this regard, I invite you to click here to see photos of damage to the church .

intestato a: PPFMC Caritas S. Antonio - Onlus,
Via Donatello, 21 - 35123 Padova

Thanking you in advance for how you can help with your prayers and / or your aid, I greet you on behalf of all the brothers in Chile

Feeling When You Drop On A Rollercoaster

is Friday March 5 and 6 days have passed since the earthquake.

With Sister Hope and two social workers of the diocese (Hilda and Jorge) are beginning to see some houses near the church to see, directly in ground, the "structural" them and, above all, per stare con la gente e capire un po' piú a fondo quello che sta vivendo e ció di cui maggiormente ha bisogno.

Anche da noi, come in tutta la zona colpita dal sisma, sono moltissime (la maggioranza) le case costruite in “adobe” che é una mixture of mud and straw on a skeleton made of wooden poles: this explains how, with an intensity between 7 and 9 degrees of Richter, the walls are cracked up to fall so easily.

Personally I'd clear the objectives of the visit: a first objective "technical" (see directly the type of damage and its extent, hence the possible solutions in the short and long term) and a second very important objective in this first time post-earthquake: to know the family (remember that we took possession of the parish the day after the disaster only knew the reality parish), who had lived and was living (still the replicas often enough and still strong, so many prefer or are forced to sleep outside, outdoors, in tents when they have it, then think of those who lost and dramatically propi families), the composition of the family (how many have lost the house they are greeted by family and friends more lucky, so to speak) and if someone is working or if they become unemployed and last appearance of the second objective, perhaps the most important, give our people the possibility of be heard in the expression of a whole emotional experience that can not strike with my strength, our heart.

No photo taken, out of respect and why this is not the time, but how many "registered" in my eyes (as seen) in my ears (as heard) in my arms (hugging children, youth, adults and elderly) and in my heart is a set of photographs they shall never perish.

The situation is very complex at this early stage "post" not lacking food, clothing and other products of greatest need (in the future I think this problem will be felt at the lack of power 'purchase by the people due to loss of job or time off without work).
the most serious problem is the home many homes should be demolished so that "to live?" (I am not a "technical" but on a massive scale to demolish and remove the rubble will take time: Chile is a country prepared for the earthquake, but not this one entities and extended for more than 500 km. as it relates to areas where it is presented between 6 º -9 º Richter scale!).

then we approach the autumn rains come, and therefore (we really hope as late as possible). There is talk of tents and wooden huts awaiting final solutions: There will therefore need a lot of money for its purchase to the aid of private and institutions is more than needed requirements (necessary help from outside the country).

We are therefore in a first phase, to determine what to do by acting in a network with the various organizations / institutions of the Church and civil rights without losing time. It will not be easy, but the Chilean people are reacting with incredible strength (how long?) By presenting, in its entirety, a face with human dignity and a beauty that makes me feel boasts more than to "stay" with them and invites me with strength to think for and with them, to plan a community of monks and concrete things for them, especially at this early stage, to listen to them, be around them, give them courage, pray with them, embrace them tenderly, be able to smile again, let them understand that there are, we, who will be in the path of ascent, but that God is indeed "Emmanuel el el Dios nosotros."

More years pass and more belief is reduced to a few but "solid" one of these is that nothing has been and is random in my life.

We had just arrived in Curico and far from thinking of a way to get in "so violent" features, but also it must have a sense (and certainly has it). The three of us brothers we were lucky: no physical, no damage to the house that we rent and no damage to the parish church (one of the few in these conditions Curicó: many churches with irreparable damage or collapsed almost entirely.) So the message seems clear: to make us get down to work in perfect joy. "

Speaking among us brothers feel the need to intensify field visits to gather more data to program and enable it to immediate relief and requests for help (in the parish territory there are very poor areas, but still unknown). All the people visited so far has not asked for anything, he just thanked him for having gone to visit them, to be stopped to listen, to be called on to hope, to be reminded of the many Chilean friends sorrolineano strongly that God will help you get up, instill courage and peace of mind knowing that the recovery will be tough, but less hard if lived with eyes , hands and heart of faith.

I saw people very poor, but very rich in dignity and above all full of simple faith, but large (Dios nos ayudará; Father Bendigo y sobre todo a nosotros Nuestros niños a) people able to share the little that ha (which would encroach one another!). All this in a context of enormous pain. Moments for me were very strong, where the first reaction was to return quickly with the necessary primary (from diapers for the children to the nylon cover / wrap "critical" points of the house ... to ...).

So continue visiting and using the same methodology: see, hear, giving time to listen, record and then reflect and think about what to do in the short term and long-term, which is certainly necessary to produce a draft s funded / i (see tents, wooden houses ...). And will continue to inform the brothers and friends. Then I feel that there is much need for "light" for us to Curicó brothers, but that light and wisdom that only comes from God, you pray so much for us because we can make the words of St. Alberto Hurtado ("hay que hasta que give Duel" ... racking up to) our motto these days and why you really do with a Franciscan style, offering a smile and heating, was only for a few seconds, the heart of those whom the Lord will make us closer.

written is long, maybe "and certainly dispersed repetitive" in many places, but I'm sure you can read it all with understanding and beginning a journey with us even though staying at 13,000 km. away.

A hug to you all
Fra Giuseppe

Body Opponent Bag From China

Si sono interrotti cammini, crollati ponti, il mare ha rotto i suoi argini naturali seminando una distruzione unica, peró non é morto il seme della speranza; incidents of looting of supermarkets and shops, as sad and most regrettable that they have no power to remove the largest human dignity and the beauty of our Chilean friends.

Three minutes apocalyptic, as three brothers of this new community.
There is no doubt that the arrival in this beautiful city in southern Chile will remember him forever and more than good. Eight hours before the earthquake we were in the drafting of a local newspaper, one of the oldest in Chile, "Prensa", a building full of history, which overlooked the main square of the city, next to the cathedral: what is left is a pure aggregation di macerie!!

Una rapida e sommaria ricognizione della casa mostrava that nothing was left in its place: the fall of the tabernacle in the chapel, a San Antonio Wood, an icon of Our Lady ... however, remained intact or with minor scratches. Nothing really thinking about what had happened and was happening in Curico, in coastal resorts and other cities and countries even closer to the epicenter.

An earthquake that "breaks" an earthquake "Join".
Arriving in Santiago Curicó from where I left off ten years of "great human enrichment," I tried from the beginning a deep sympathy for the new friends that the Lord put in my path. An experience like this is strong reflect and to the side of pain, impotence, there is the feeling of pain felt the strong call to unite faith, hope and personal abilities to love to faith, hope and love of these new friends. It all makes sense!
We arrived accompanied by the fury of nature that breaks everything he meets but can do nothing against the most beautiful feelings that the human heart is always entertained and always palaces.

that the communion between the three of us brothers and people can be stronger and more real looking its source in God, a God who never leaves the man, especially when it seems so far away mysteriously.

Fra Giuseppe

Martina che non voleva dormire

editorial de "La Stampa" of 2 March 2010

Martina did not want to stay Massimo Gramellini

Martina Maturana is twelve years old, lives on the island of Robinson Crusoe Island, off the coast of Chile, and not sleeping .

He just felt shaking the mattress in the back. A vibration did wake up, but not that much. It could just turn away and start to sleep, how they are doing all the other six hundred inhabitants of the island of Juan Fernandez.

Martina gets out of bed instead. He wants to understand.

shakes her policeman father, holed up under the covers. "What happened, Dad?", "What was what? No, go back to bed. " She goes, but can not get to sleep.

Then, on tiptoe, reaching the window, looks down and sees. You see the boats swaying in the bay, the moonlight. And he understands. "Tsunami."

He rushes into the streets to play the gong. Now I'm all awake And run to the top of the rise that dominates the island. Just in time: in just a few minutes a giant wave engulfs the bay, flooding the square, destroys the town hall and the surrounding houses. The girl who did not want to stay saved the lives of all those who did not want to wake up.

remember her, every time we resign ourselves to remove the reality and reassuring explanations for not having to deal with it.

Martina embodies the spirit of every human being, as it was at birth and how it should always be, and instead is almost never: this in itself, capable of wonder.

In a word, alive.

people on the street
Curico, March 3, 2010

Hello everyone ,
a few hours (4 days after the earthquake, ed) we have electricity and I write a few words.

We are fine, our house has no damage (and new), the church as well, a few things: broken glass, Quelch and piece of wall fell (the church is a new construction), thank the Lord!

the city center

As you can see from the pictures (or what has already arrived in Italy) our city is destroyed ... They were terrible moments, I can not find the words to describe those minutes.

the city center

people are now already thinking about rebuilding and hope cleaning, is reordered, and many think the reconstruction.

the church of San Francisco, the city center (not officiated by our brothers)
